Try on different emotions. Try to think about times in your life when the emotion actually served you. All emotions serve a function, and it's important to honor that.

gets us into a state of alertness and preparedness
ANGER
Allows us to advocate for ourselves, set boundaries, seek justice, connect with our values
GUILT and SHAME
lets us know when we have acted in a way that doesn't jive with our values
cues us in to when we can /should apologize or take ownership
DISGUST
Makes you want to distance yourself from something that could be infectious, contaminated, or unsafe
protects our health
