RACHEL DORE

Psy.D., Certified Eating Disorders Specialist

Dr. Rachel Dore is a dual- Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist. Currently in private practice in California and Pennsylvania, Dr. Dore previously served as a Clinical Supervisor for Center for Discovery's outpatient treatment facility in Newport Beach, California, after 4 years of full-time service as Program Director. Dr. Dore is member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), where she currently serves as Certification Chair for the Orange County Chapter.

Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Dore received her undergraduate Psychology degree at Loyola University New Orleans. She completed 5 years of full-time residency training on the East Coast, where she earned both Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in School Psychology, from the Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. Dr. Dore is a dual- licensed psychologist in California and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Dore previous professional activity includes distinguished clinical leadership, training, expert supervision and program implementation at the Residential and Outpatient level of care. She has worked closely with leaders in the field to develop multidisciplinary treatment protocols that are consonant with the latest research and best practice standards.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Dore previous professional activity includes: Clinical Supervisor at Center for Discovery where she oversaw a multidisciplinary treatment team at Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care. Prior to this, she served as the Program Director of this facility. 

An advocate for eating disorder awareness, Dr. Dore has appeared as an eating disorder expert on webinars and tv shows such as PHL17 IN FOCUS, Good Day Philadelphia, and CBS Philly, the podcast Moody with Dr. Sage. She has been published on EatingDisorderHope.com, and the peer-reviewed journal, Clinical Psychology Science and Practice. She has been featured as a guest, most recently, on Not That Kinda Girl Podcast and the Mental LOTline Podcast. 

Dr. Dore infuses her prowess in evidence-based practice into her clinical work. She is skilled in utilizing her clinical acumen to enhance motivation, provide psycho-education, and facilitate therapeutic learning opportunities to foster insight, self-efficacy, and transformation.

Payment 

All clients will be provided a super bill upon request.  Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be reimbursed full or in part. Services are to be paid up front.  You can submit your super bill for insurance reimbursement when applicable.  Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
